California Plan Your Giving Project

Inspired to encourage others to make a meaningful future gift to charity
and motivated by the examples of The Gift Movement announced by
Buffett and Gates, a grass roots committee of volunteers gathered in
2010. They advocated for and received a Legislative Resolution declaring
October 1, 2010 to be "California Plan Your Giving Day."

In 2011, the Legislature has declared the 2nd Annual "California Plan
Your Giving Day" to be October 1st.

VISION:

For all Californians to leave the world a better place for future
generations by making a meaningful gift to charity through their
estate plan.

MISSION:

Get Californians to announce meaningful gifts to charity in their
wills so planned gifts become commonplace.

GOALS:

Gather and share 1,000 decisions from Californians who have already included one or more charities in their estate plan
Promote the benefits throughout California of putting charities in an estate plan through personal conversations and media stories
Seek new decisions to be added to the project's growing list of Californians supporting charities through their estate plans
